What is wellness coaching?
Wellness coaching involves coaching people in business towards achieving their personal health and fitness goals whilst increasing their workplace productivity and job satisfaction. With more people becoming overweight and indeed obese due to today’s modern and convenient lifestyle choices, wellness coaching provides a focused approach towards improving people’s health habits.
It includes personalised one-to-one coaching sessions that support the employee through the process of improving any or all of the following health risk assessment performance measures:
- Body mass index
- Waist to hip ratio
- Blood pressure
- Total blood cholesterol
- Blood glucose screening
- Dietary analysis
- Physical activity analysis
How does it work with my organisation?
Wellness coaching can take place with individuals or groups. Most people prefer face-to-face time with their coach. The employee initially will need to undertake a health risk assessment to get a clear picture of what their health related issues are. The coach will then set them up on an individualised wellness program that defines and tracks progress of the relevant health and fitness goals.
Wellness coaching is usually delivered into an organisation on a large scale to many of it’s employees under a corporate wellness program designed to implement the organisation’s corporate health plan.
What are the benefits of wellness coaching?
Organisations that incorporate wellness coaching programs into their culture see sustainable improvements in key areas, including:
